I have a 94 RR vogue 3.9 soft dash. After driving for about 75 miles or so it loses power and starts misfiring. If I remove the fuel cap it recovers and runs perfectly again. I have replaced the fuel pump (twice) and have replaced the fuel cap but the fault remains. It only eems to do this as the fuel gets low IE about a quarter of a tank left.
Can anyone help me with this problem please?

Tank vent system is blocked. Don't know if Classic has emission control tank venting system, maybe not. But basically there is a vacuum being formed in tank as fuel is drawn out. In simple terms you need to make sure the tank is vented so air can be drawn in to replace fuel taken out.

Thanks for your advise. I have the full workshop manual so will see what I can find out about venting

Thanks for your comments. I am doing my best to get a reliable classic but it seems a never ending task!
