1998 freelander starts first time usualy, then every so often wont start as no glow plug light comes on dash, i have to leave ign on, up bonnet take out or jiggle yellow relay till i hear clicking and buzing and go back in car starts instant, is it new relay , asked previouse owner and said its been like that for 4 years,cleaned terminals but every so often it does it,

your glow plugs will not come on until cold weather so rule that one out I would go for a new relay but before you buy one try one from another socket

glow plug light always comes on and a few secs later car starts,but sometimes nothing but if u wiggle relay light come on dash and starts. also if u press relay while car running it stops it dead

sorted it, it was the fuel relay holder, cut it off and put 4 connections on it, plugged relay in, perfect.
