Ok the story is my good old RRC has a 200tdi fitted and is way underpowered when setting off. When I got it, it had the 200tdi with the lt77 and lt230 transfer with 1.222 ratio and stock 3.54diffs with 265/75 16 insa tyres, so i was thinking as the motor sounds sweet and seems to pull well when it gets going that it must be due to the taller tyres. So i bought a lt230 with the 1.410 ratio to bring the gearing down to help which it has but if I had a trailer or caravan on i dont think it would set off on a hill without a lot of clutch slipping or sticking it in low. Today i decided to tweak the pump(on top under the cap) 1/4 of a turn at a time but i ended up with it wound in that far the lock nut had nothing to bite on oh and it still didn't kick out and black smoke when setting off so wtf is going on

Im now drinking large amounts of larger which i find always helps(short term anyway)

I only did the belt the other week and it ran the same before i did it:confused: I had a pin holding the fly wheel and in the fuel pump so could I still be out on the pump.

Youre adjusting the wrong part of the pump you need to full load screw which is on the back of the pump inbetween the one youre adjusting and the injector pipes 13mm headed lock nut and a 7mm hex on the end of the screw if it hasnt been toyed with before then you need to unscrew the adjuster all the way out and remove the tamperproof locker (diesel will come out) then turn the screw in in 1/2 turn increments untill it smokes a lil bit. Also adjust your fuel pump diaphram by undoing the 4 screws omn top of the pump pulling the disphram out and putting the sharpest angle of the pin towards the front of the engine. also revert the one youve already adjusted back to standard then turn it in roughly 1 turn

Well it's now running great. I thought it was running to well when the revs picked up to be timing so I took DefenderOffender's advice and turned the diaphragm 90 degrees and returned the smoke adjustment screw back to stock and turned it in one turn. I can't believe the difference, it now has grunt for the first time.:) I was pulling out of a junction today and booted it and it spun one of the front wheels.:D Anyway thanks for all the help.

If you really want more power, you can wind your actuator rod in a few turns in. Mine is and it made a fair difference.
