fuel pump noise cleaned out both filters in pump replaced fuel filter replaced all pipes new regulator fitted it was leaking do you think the pump is on its way out disco runs fine or is it a case of turn up radio and let it develope spent that much in the last month all new brakes starter to name but a few

Think its perfectly normal for them to make a noise.

You will hear the fuel pump when you switch the key to pos II (ignition lights) as it primes the fuel system, but you shouldn't hear the pump once the engine is running.

If it still runs noisily, it could mean that you have an airleak somewhere which would be good to fix before you burn the pump out, as they are quite expensive I believe - £250 or so.

cant find air leak was told it is a pressure system more like to have a leak of fuel but dont have one any other info would be greatfull

Got told by LR Stealer my pump was knackered because they said it was noisy, bought new one and fitted it, and guess what? no improvement at all.

in workshop all night when i take filter off the pump makes no noise put the filter back on whines like the wife going to try new filter tomorow so if the pump makes no noise but when under pressure whines does this mean the pump is fecked help i am pulling my hair out
