Hi all, i have a 2004 RR vogue 3.0TD6, i was driving along the motorway and an error message came up stating "Fuel Inject System". As soon as this message flagged up i lost all power and managed to coast to the hard shoulder. Their was no bangs, smoke, etc. The vehicle would then turn over but not start. The AA plugged it into their system and it came back with no faults. The car is now at LR and i have been told it is one of two things...either the ECU (which has been previously cleared by a specialist due to errors stopping the car from starting in the past) or the main diesel pump. They have sent off the ECU to be checked by the specialist as its under warranty but if it is the diesel pump they said i will be looking at £1500 just for the part. I cant believe a new pump could cost a small fortune as ive been quoted.

Any advice on this one would be very much appreciated.

Thanks

Nick

Thanks for the tip Datatek, ive heard of dealer mark up but considering the one SaintV8 found is only £256 i cant believe they can quote me £1500!.

My post was for the V8....but a further search will reveal the process is the same to replace the early Diesel In tank pumps too...but the pump is slightly different....

Search on here as there was a chap I was posting with about the Diesel Pump...I'll see if I can find it...

Worked out he replaced his for around £150-170 ish.....

My boss knows my exploits on LZ as he often reads over my shoulder with comments such as 'Whats wrong now?' or 'Should have kept the company car mate...' you know - helpful words of encouragement...

Unfortunatly I was away from my desk down in the workshop discussing with our Machinist over an error I made on a drawing....nothing major, I rounded up a tolerence and it made for odd reading against the nominal measurement and the upper tolerence as it made it sound like the nominal measurement is actually outside of tolerence...must have been thinking about other things when I made that annotation.....:eek::eek:
