I tell you why they have put gaffer tape around it because they were too idle to drill out the 2 rivets that are on the bottom of the fitting you drill them out then slide the whole thing out ,this has not been done so they have botched it. hope this helps and look at the pipe with the blue press clips on it has collapse on it self in the middle you would not get any fuel through even after bypassing the filter.
