Hi!

Freelander TD4 2004 manual.

Today I was trying to take out the fuel pressure regulator, but I failed.:(

Basically the space is too narrow and I cannot even test what torx size I need. I took manifold out and I’ve heard some people took electromotor out. I unscrewed the electromotor but couldn’t take it out cause it’s fixed by a yellow cable. I tried to disconnect that cable by first unscrewing the structure that holds the Egr solenoid+all those sensor cables. But still couldn’t take it out as I don’t know how the yellow cable is supposed to come out and my hand barely fits... But I think even with electromotor out it would be difficult to unscrew the regulator.

Has anyone done this job? Is there a guide? What torx size do I need and what else do I still need to take out to remove regulator? I hope I don’t need to unplug coolant pipes and fuel lines. That would imply spilling coolant all over...

Remove manifold as you say, then starter motor, you can then use a torx 27 a few photo's below, no need to remove anything else fuel lines etc

Thanks Arctic! Great pics.

I had troubles removing the starter motor. I unscrewed the 2 long screws, but the motor is connected by a yellow cable, which is hard to access. I don’t know how the cable is supposed to come out and I’m afraid if I pull it I break it. I cannot imagine reconnecting it as there is very little space where the cable goes.
