Got a 53 plate td4, car has been struggling to start sometimes but all of a sudden won’t start at all.
Just cranks over, will start up on easystart and runs fine.
I’m thinking low pressure pump but I can hear it running (probably louder than before)

Any other advice?
Only happened today not had much time to investigate

It might be worth getting something like an Icarsoft I930 to check for problems before throwing more money at it. From what you've said it could be the LP fuel pump but the diags should tell you.

Yes wasn’t happy paying for a new one but with the timescale I needed it fixed ASAP as I use it for towing my racecar
I’m hoping it’s the LP pump, even tho I can hear it maybe it’s stuck will give it a tap tonight

Check the fuel pressure sensor wiring.

Replace the O ring in the pressure regulator in the HP pump - you may have been sold a "new" pump but it may have been "reconditioned" or just straight of a scrapper.

Cam shaft sensor?

It was a reconditioned unit the garage bought.
I was hoping it wouldn’t be anything to do with hp pump as it’s a time consuming and pain in the backside job.
Find it weird how it drove fine last Monday parked it up then tried Friday and wouldn’t start

You said earlier it was new. Recon could mean anything from a professionally rebuilt unit with all new seals etc and full years warranty, to ancient 2nd hand picked at random from a scrap yard.
Are you 100% certain it was a proper recon unit?

A new HP pump is a new HP pump. A reconditioned HP isn't new. It's entirely possible that the regulator hasn't been fitted with new O rings. So it's definitely worth changing them, especially as they cost just a few quid.

It's unlikely to be all the injectors. If one is leaking down, then three are still available to start the engine, albeit a bit smokey and rough..
Check the rail sensor for corrosion at the plug. That's a much more common cause of poor running and non starting, than an injector failing.

did a leak back check, all 4 at different rates, cylinder 4 was very high compared to rest. injectors out and sent for refurb will be back Monday ready to fit Tuesday. was surprised how easy they were to remove, must of been lucky!!!
Hopefully this solves the starting problem either way they need doing

Injectors replaced, car starts first time.
Luckily nothing was seized very easy job :)
Would recommend lynx diesels near reading, great guy and quick turn around on servicing my injectors
