My wife broke down today with a fuel injector fault on our 2002 HSE TD6.
The car had been running without any issue (or at least none relating to this), would the same error message come up if for arguments sake the fuel pump had packed up?
Having had injector problems on our outboard normally I would expect the car to starts to splutter if fuel was being starved on an injector but the problem she had today was it just died, no spluttering just up came the message and the car was dead like it had instantly run out of fuel (hence my fuel pump query).
The car should have arrived at our local inde by now so I'll wait to here form them but Im just curious of anyone has had a simular issue.
cheers
Dan

If it was just one injector - It would run albeit lumpy...

For a sudden stop and nothing, it can only be a fuel delivery issue....check the Tank and outside tank pumps...

The High Pressure Pump is chain drive from the Crankshaft .....

Most common is the outside tank pump...remove the cover, and see if you can feel/hear it running when the ignition is switched on...

That being said, if the Loom or ECU goes tits-up it will cut the engine off!

Some geezer had this only a few threads back, turned out the ECU was playing silly buggers!

Ok thanks for that, the cars already at an inde that we have used since our first P38 so hopefully its straight fwd.
I wasnt sure if a differing error message would come up if it was starved of fuel or whether it would be the same "fuel injection error"?
