Hi,
Had the tank and pickup/sender unit replaced on my LWB S3 (Diesel). since then, the fuel gauge has been out of order. The gauge was always showing off the meter full after I picked it up. Once I refilled her (after conking out with no fuel) the gauge shows off the meter empty.
Before the work, the gauge showed full (when full) but the tank would be empty at half way on the meter (so at least I had some idea when to fill up).
I tried swaping the conectors on the new sender unit but now the gauge shows about a quarter full (knowing full well it's a new tank and new pickup). The gauge also takes a *very* long time to creep up to this level with the terminals connected this way arounnd.
I had a problem with the temperature gauge also, but I had the regulator on the back of the dash changed which has fixed this.
I did think I might try a seperate gauge and just connect it straight to the sender unit in the back of the Landy to test, but Landy gauges are rare and expensive. Can I use a 3rd party/generic/cheap gauge just for testing, are these type of meter all a standard voltage?
Anyone got any other ideas?
