Hi guys
Just replaced the fuel pump in my Discovery TD5. Car running fine but the fuel sender is reading empty. Connected the plug to the old pump and till reads the same. Gauge was working fine before pump replacement. Is there something I haven't done?
Cheers Gary

do you mean you connected the old pump and if you move up down the floater there's no action in the gauge? ... if it is swap the sender unit from the old pump to the replacement(provided is not new) , if it's new claim in warranty

Yeah its second hand. Can't get a reading on gauge on old pump either. Old pump is out of tank. Gauge was moveing the thickness of needle when turning on ignition. Just went to garage and stuck in another 30quid and that lifted it another bit. So the new gauge must be out of calibration. You reccomed swapping the senders.

try to swap senders as they are replaceable...it's hard for me to give more advice when it's about replacing one scrap with another... in this area you must bite the bullet and go for new then stay stressless for some years than go cheap with used and unreliable bits IMO
