Hello,

How often do you replace the fuel filter in your landy? I find myself having to swap it at least twice a year to keep engine performance tip top, and I only fitted a nice, clean, new fuel tank about a year and a half ago, so it can't be full of that much crap can it? That said, I did run my tank dry a couple of weeks ago and it's had a fair few gallons of bio-diesel and SVO chucked into it, which might explain the problem! Who's your favourite brand? I tend to go for Fram, although coopers have been good over the years.

'Bout a couple o' times a year fur me. Don't think it'll matter if it's a new tank or not pos, ye're bound tae get some crap in there from dodgy fuel, mixin' yer fuel and dependin' on the tank itself it might be startin' tae rust!;):D

It may be the SVO blocking it - i have to change about every 2-300 miles (one of these days i'm going to filter the WVO more!) - I used halfords last time as that was all i could get hold of on the day when it would not go more than 30mph :(

One thing Ive noticed over the years in the trade is that the addatives in fuels turn the filters black ( used to just go brown ish with ****/rust etc .

but I change my filters every other oil change , always have :)

I thought as much, thanks for the replies. I'm going to try and get hold of a crossland filter for it this time around! Hopefully that'll do for a few months before it needs swapping again.

it must be costing more in filters than you are saving at the pump :eek:

I bought a UFI filter once. It was ****. The seals didn't fit properly, so it leaked. I went genuine after that, and no longer have problems :)
