My 2003 to 2006 Haynes mentions this fuel drain. I don't recall it from the earlier Haynes or the LandRover service schedule. Does anyone bother with it and if so is it necessary every 12k?
I suppose it could be handy if you fill up with petrol !

Mine had never been touched in over 100,000 miles, including the pump and filter, even though the previous owner had a full LR dealer service. When I fitted the new pump and filter a few weeks ago the fuel in the pre filter was clean with no sediment.

With my TD4 at 57k miles I will leave the sedimeter drain to the time I change the filter. Whether the filter change at 60k is necessary is another question which isn't answered until one blocks and one is stuck on the hard shoulder!
Such a pity the filter unit is so poorly sited.

And usually seized in the mounting bracket.
