Hi

I want to finish a recent service by replacing the fuel filter on my BMW diesel engine.

I have never done this before and just wanted to make sure I will be doing it correctly.

Is it just a matter of unscrew the old one and replace with new?

Do you use the fuel in the old one to part fill the new one?

Anything else to do, bleed, etc????

straight forward like you say, unscrew one lube the o rings and screw the new one on. dont put the old fuel in the new filter though, the intank pump will run and fill it up when you turn on the ignition. turn the ignition on and of about 4 or 5 times leaving it about a minute inbetween the on an of bit and it should be full.

It's dead easy mate : I'm useless and had never been under the bonnet of a Strange Rover before and did it in 2 mins flat. Just do what somebody here told you.
watch out for the fuel pipe joint at the filter I gave it a gentle tweak and it came to pieces in my hand resulting in having to replace the pipe back to the tank.
