Fuel filter housing

I'm nearly ready to turn the rebuilt 300tdi over, but have a query about the fuel filter housing:

Should there be a blanking plug on the left had side (as you look at it front on)??? Mine just has a hole there - is it connected inside?

Hi Stingray from memory the housing was used in various applications and could well have a blank plug, it may well have in and out arrows showing fuel flow just make sure it flows the right way or filter will not do its job. I think the plug is 14mm x 1.5 pitch
