His guys.

Just a quick question. Does anybody have a diagram of how the filters and valve's SHOULD be in a 2003 td5 disco''s fuel filter housing?

Having starting problems and once I rule out the harness and injector seals I will be moving onto those little valves in the filter housing but after watching several YouTube videos and reading various threads on here (many of the picture links have expired) they all seem to contradict each other on where the air bleed valve and the non return valve should be!

Thanks James that's great. Makes sense now.

Seems that there's quite a few people with the valves in the wrong points on the filter housing.

That is where most the threads ive read seem to suggest it is. Which is why I raised this thread to try and get a concrete answer before I fit it

My non return valve just arrived. There's nothing 1 way about it lol, it's just a hollow piece of tubing so I'm not sure really weather it's worth worrying about.

Right , at local main dealer .
The non return valve we have is I. Incomplete !
A genuine LR one is only £10.62 and will be here in the morning and his computer shows it fitting in this position :)
Left inner .(closest to the back of the truck and nearest the fuel tank )

Sorry to be the bringer of bad news but your starting issues will almost certainly not be cured by changing those valves. Hopefully I will be proved wrong but they were one of the first things I changed when I had starting issues and made no improvement whatsoever. Another piece of advice is change the copper washers when you fit them as they will leak if you don't. I found the Land Rover ones pretty feeble and also expensive so bought some better and cheaper ones off Amazon.
