hi there i have a dhse with the bmw diesel in it and i get avarage of 25 round town country roads etc, and 30 odd on a longish run, was a bit gutless at first though but after haveing it chiped it mmade a huge diff
hope this might help.

Hi
I have a 4.6 HSE on lpg i get 13 to 15mpg around town and roughly about 22mpg on a run but the gas here is only 33ppl, and the car has quite a bit of get up and go.

Hi there

I own a 4.0 V8 and I am getting a 16.8 mpg around town and 22 on a long run. But I can make these single figers if driven in sports mode to its full potential!!!

Hi Keith!
Ive got a standard 2.5 DSE (BMW Engined) Diesel..on a '96
Got it outta AutoTrader, Immaculate, 100k, Met Red, As new Cream Leather Piped, All the toys n wood £4250 ... Returns me 24mpg around town, and 30mpg on a run....And i dont find it sluggish (sure its not chipped).. As soon as its rolling (5mph) it pulls strong upto around 90mph max..
They definately are out there cheap enougth if you look around, and its a hell of a lot of motor for £4500... Not sure about everyone else but buying at the "Budget End" dont seem to come without a few silly niggly problems as you go along thou...But these are only silly things like sticking door locks etc,
Good luck in looking and hope you find the right one!!!

I have a 4.6 lpg get around 12 round town and on a long run about 17 thats on gas so if I put in £22 I get about 140 around town I put in £28.00 last week and did a long run and got 222 miles for that !!! not back eh You can get a decent rr on gas for £4500 thats a p38 but makes sure it has a donut tank in rear wheel well you will then get all your boot space £4500 for a real quality car bargain Watch out for the warning light on the climate control £300 to renew blend motors common fault good luck

HI
ive got an R reg (97) P38 4.6 hse on LPG. I get any where between 10 mpg on short town runs up to 24 on motorway. Bear in mind LPG is about half the price of petrol then this aint too bad. (equivalent of about 45-50 mpg on the motor way!!)
I have donut tank fitted in the spare wheel bit under the boot mat so no loss in boot space but its only a 55 litre tank - so research where your local LPG petrol stations are.
Yes watch out for the Blend motors which are servo motors to control the hot to cold air on each side - a fault is indicated by an ! & a book on the air con control (search blend motors on here for more)
AN LPG conversion will run you about £2,000 so well worth getting one already converted. Just make sure you have a certificate of fitting/safety check as some insurance companies require this.
Plus good old Mayor KEN doesnt recognise this as an exempt vehicle when it comes to Congestion charge.
happy rangie ing

my 97 dse gets 22.2 mpg, i only do town driving and have oversized pistons which i dont know if they are what gives me less mpg than anyone else with a diesel rangie.

why the oversized pistons?. :)

i have no idea i bought the engine in bits, the guy i bought it from said he got it as a replacement block from a breakers yard and unfortunately his omega got towed away by the council which was lucky for me as i only had a knackered block in my rr with no head!

I've got a P Reg 4.6 HSE, does about 15mpg around town, around 16.5 at 65 ish on a run, or about 14 on a run at about 90 (only when I go to the continent of course!).
Does anyone else reckon this sounds about right or is it lower than you'd expect? I noticed I got about an extra 2mpg after running through a few full tanks of petrol with Redex added.
