Fuel Door TD5 2004

Hi guys I'm after a bit of advice regarding fuel door.
My disco fuel door doesn't close, according to the previous owner it never closed properly for them either. Is anybody able to share a few detailed hi resolution pictures of their "mechanism" behind the door ,
Mine will not close properly , but even to close it like the picture I require to poke something through the gap to get it to "bite" and hang onto the door partially , am I missing something ?

It could be the little black plastic catch, try bending the metal tab & see if it catches better.

Try cleaning the black plastic catch and ensure it pivots freely.

Could try that simple things are usually over looked.
Not the first time ive knocked the flap with the pump handle & bent the metal tab.

Happened on mine, just some muck dried behind it.
Got to be careful with flaps!

Regular lubricating is the key.

Despite of it's title the attached TSB is about various fuel flap misbehaviours which includes the not latching symptom too

Mine is actually missing the black clip so this will be a start , Haha. Didn't know there was supposed to be one . Thank you sir , just ordered it so this will be a step Inn the right direction. Thank you

No problem glad to help.

Ok so due to the lack of knowing if anything was missing , I have now not only bought the part in question , but have also had someone else look at it and say ..... "Ye thats missing a plastic bit that is"
So plastic bit should solve issue , thanks all involved .
