Have posted this to all types of LR owners for an informative answer. On last service I was billed for addition of Wynn's diesel additive @ £10.99. Does anyone (in the trade ) know what type of Wynns this was as there are various different Wynns products and what its supposed to do? Service was by main LR stealers. (no comments please!!)

These products are TRANSFER Substances.

Their sole function is to transfer more of your money to the stealers than they could otherwise have stolen.

I suggest you tell the garage next time DO NOT ADD any so-called diesel additives to my tank.

If you MUST waste money on this stuff, buy it from the local factor and tip it in the tank yourself.

not to clued up on this as i play with trucks how ever i know that Mercedes dealers are having to add additives at services on new sprinters as they are having lots of problems with excessive soot clogging the diesel particulate filter solid. so theres a posibility that this extra 10.99 may just infact save you money and agro in the future, still not good of them to do it with out confirming and explaing to you first

Asda has a 2 Tank fill bottle of Redex Diesel additive for only £2 a bottle

So what are we allowed to post here?
Are we being censored now?

That's two questions, so I suppose it will be deleted!

cummon Charlesy

This section is for posting FAQ's that help people resolve common problems that are known within the Landy fraternity.
It is not for posting questions - the place(s) for that are the other sub forums.
This is the first place to search if your have a problem.
It is also the place to post a solution to a problem.

I think it is explained fairly well in Rattys sticky thread at the top of this forum, where it also states that asking questions in here will be deleted or moved to the correct sub forum.

That's probably Adblue (or Mercedes equivalent) basically its just a urea (**** - yes thats right) based fluid that is used to regenerate the DPF.
Used in trucks too.

DPF's block up on all vehicles though, they are a way of reducing emissions on otherwise old engine technology. Work great on constant high speeds, but don't like traffic.

Confused.
So this section is for posting solutions looking for problems?
No Kidding ...
That's clever.
One day some smart-ass will invent spanners that repair engines before they break down.

But OK, I think I get the idea.
