hi,elvis, must admit to also using the millers in both my td4/s.when i started using it in both i compared the smoke test results on both previous mots and i have to admit there was a big reduction on both.not sure about the other claims, the main reason i use it is for its claim to lubricate the fuel pumps.hope it does, will never know i guess.tim

I used Redex in my TD4 and it seemed like it was on rocket fuel for awhile but not long after, it went back to normal.

You might find an improvement on a TD4 using BP Ultimate or a 50/50 biodiesel mix, both of which raise the Cetane rating. On Freelander 2, a lot of people swear by 0.3L of 2-stroke oil per tankful of diesel.

This happened to me with the Millers, & I think what happened was it started to dissolve & clean up the deposits/gum in the tank. After a further 6 months the extra performance came back to me & it definitely performs better with the millers added.

I've read up the stuff on 2 stoke oil on the link site, sounds very interesting.
Many owners of highly strung older Brit and Itie sports bikes swear by a teaspoon or two of Castrol R in the fueltank........

I use millers specifically for keeping injectors clear. Have I noticed a difference? Well I've noticed I haven't had to change any injectors.

Aside from that, when she fills the tank it doesn't always get put in and I can tell the instant I drive the car by the comparative harshness of the engine.

only tried 2t oil when i noticed i was putting unleaded in my td4s fuel tank, got to about 4.5 litres then the penny dropped. topped up with derv, put a litre of 2t oil in,said a prayer and drove on.to be honest i think after that mix,the td4 ran the best it ever has under my ownership.tim

Hhhmm, interesting on the two stroke thing, anyone here tried that???
I use it. I think the engine's a bit smoother. Not sure yet if it improves the mpg though. I think the idea of extra lube for the fuel pump is probably sound. Whether all the other claims are true I'm not sure. No-one is providing any figures.
With the Td5 I could notice a definite difference from using, eg, 50% bio. I guess I haven't done enough miles in the Freely to really get a feel for the engine. I've also tried Millers and again, couldn't really tell the difference. My mpg seems to be on the good side compared with others on the forums, but that could just be my driving style.

When I got my TD4 with 40000 mies on her she was very hesitant at setting off especially at junctions where a quick getaway was required. Put a bottle of millers in over 2 tanks and the hesitation has gone and the engine is loads smoother. The bottle recommends using it all the time but I am trying one in 3 tanks. Will try 2 stroke as I have a few bottles of that for the chainsaw and Yamaha Trials bike. Any brand recommended by anyone?? Castrol R smells nice :)

I used 2 stroke oil in my car.

After a few tanks worth, it did seem to start and idle much much smoother. Never noticed any difference in fuel consumption, but it did practically eliminate any soot coming out the back end (and it had been chipped!)

Always find the best mix is 25% biodiesel 75% diesel (Total or Shell) and millers diesel power. Goes like stink and never any smoke. Will be dropping the bio now though, it's to cold for it, roll on summer .
Strangley if I put Esso in the tank it runs really rough? don't know if this is just mine or other's have this trouble with certain fuels.

Properly made bio-diesel should not cause problems at the mix strength you quote. There are plenty of London taxis and others who run on 100% bio all the time, including winter.
