Disco 2 Front wheel arch rust issues.

I'd thought my Disco Td5 had very little corrosion. Last week I removed the front offside wing to deal with a little aluminium rash and was disappointed to find a lot of rust. It was caused by debris which had lodged between the plastic liner and the inner wing wheel arch. Luckily I've got it just in time, only one tiny hole. A good wire brush and a thick mix of dinitrol cavity wax and chain oil will keep the inner wing safe in the future.

Inner wing corrosion issues now seem more and more common, I'd encourage any owner to check this area; stitch in time etc. The bottom bolt, wing to sill was awkward, luckily for me everything turned ok. I'm not sure that removal of the wing is strictly necessary, certainly helps access though.
