Fit a winch tray as per the G4 above but dont worry about the winch
Christ , now that’s what u call a bull bar but they have very large bunnies out there called skippy , lol
Some simple questions, Do you have to park on the street? Do you not have a parking spot round the back of the terrace. I too lived in a terrace and had a similar problem except I had a garage in a block and no Landy which would not have fitted. Many people turned their front gardens into a parking space, but that may not solve the problem either. You mentioned recording, would that be with dash cams or intruder video cam on the house? Could you lash an old spare wheel and tyre to the front removable when you want to use the truck?I live in a terrace house in the city, and we have people parking their cars and walking into work as this is a quiet street. This wouldn't be a big deal except that a lot of these people seem to be "bumpkins" - people who live out in the countryside with big drives, and when faced with tight parking spaces, "bump" backwards and forwards as they park. This has affected me (as well as my neighbours) with ALL my previous cars, so before it happens to this one I'd like to add some form of front protection. I'm thinking the big towbar at the back has that end covered
I've looked at the A-bar from LR, but that's too high, and likely won't help at all with this - I really need a bar along the bottom that's not too garrish, but just stops the bumps. I'm also not too sure about the legal position - I assume it'd need some kind of certificate to prove it's not going to cause additional injuries to pedestrians in the event of an accident. UK law seems a bit fuzzy on this. I've seen the full chrome bullbars, but I can't see how they could be legal now, and I don't think I want that anyway! A bit too "Chelsea footballer" style for me
Recommendations would be good? Or some alternative - bearing in mind it's almost impossible to catch the culprits unless I'm physically at home at the time it happens (which I never have been)! I'd like to prevent the damage rather than just record it, and then have insurance issues.
Your guess is as good as mine. If you've read the regs and have got the right number stamped on the bull bar, then I would hope it is OK. If it was me, I'd look for the emark and check it with the UK.gov site, I note there is an email address. but they are talking about hitting someone or something while driving along, not while you are parked. Can't believe how expensive they are. The winch bumper has got to be cheaper.Haha, funny you should mention cones, my neighbour did try it for a while, but people just picked it up and put it on the kerb! Yes, it's annoying, but I'd rather a cheap bull-bar gets a few scratches than the paintwork. The regulations seem a bit fuzzy - I think the upshot is to ensure the bar has a certificate that it's legal in the UK?
