Front Passenger door lock

Hi all

I have recently acquired my first land rover and have a couple of probs with it. It is a 1993 disco 1 2.5 TDI and i love it. i have wanted one of these sinc e i was little and now i need the seven seats my Mrs has allowed it.

right my most anoying problem is the front passenger door. When i unlock the car (using the key in drivers lock) all the locks pop up but the passsenger one does not come up all the way. I have to either pull the lock up from the inside and grab the handle at the same time or put the key into the lock and wiggle it while holding the handle.

Any ideas how to fix this

latch and motor assembly??........... hope not, it isnt cheap.

i am going to take a look inside today / tomorrow but the lock does pop up about half way and locks fine

I'm pretty sure that you can adjust the throw of the button by altering the length of the rod from actuator to button.

The bloody thing has 2 solenoids within....one for up and one for down....can-t change by parts just the whole assy.....happened to me...it didnt open,just locked......I tryed everything and ended by replaceing it......hope you're luckyer

Doesn't this sound more like the little return spring has snapped? You can get em on Ebay for about a fiver - I've just ordered some cos my back door is the same. In fact, the bloke who sells em has just gone on holiday for a week though! Do a search either on this forum or on Ebay for discovery door spring.
