Hi all.
So last week i decided to change the gearbox and transfer box oil, They were both very low on oil

After refilling with EP90 I noticed a slow drip from where the output shaft meets the transfer box (from part no, 236548) See red arrow below

So i ordered a new oil seal (FRC1780). I read some advice that I should buy a Corteco seal, so I did, and to do the job properly I bought a new oil seal housing (236541) and even a costly new output flange (539993) plus gasket, nuts, bolts.......etc.

After fitting it all I gave myself a pat on the back, admired the shiny new parts, and pumped in 2.5lts of oil.........................and then noticed a steady drip from exactly the same place as before

When I was seating the oil seal in the housing i tested the flange and it wasn't a tight fit, but I thought it must be ok as they were all new parts! Although I don't understand how it can seal 100% if it has to rotate?

So I was hoping for some advice on the seal etc. Is there a better brand I can buy? Could I have done something wrong? I have noticed some seals are part metal (see below) where most (including the one I ordered) are hard black rubber.....confused

Thanks in advance,

Sounds like you have been sent the wrong seal what was the Coreteco number should match this info in pic.
The other seal in your pic is an old metal leather version
