Front diff

hi all I have just become a real owner wondering weather done the right thing I brought a p38 4ltr with log got it home overheated found out head gasket had gone took it back to get a refund. Then I found a l322 3ltr td6 driving home I got about 2 miles from home had a load bang and found out that it has recede the front diff now having problems trying to sort it out I can't seem to find a diff for it as it is the spline type can anyone tell me a way round it. A Land Rover dealer has told me they changed that type of diff and prop to cure that problem but is going to cost about £2.500 in parts alone. I have read about a recall on these models does anyone know if this still stands. Pls help if you can it is driving me nuts and I like this car thank you
