front diff guard

me mates recently brought a defender same year as mine same kinda spec but i noticed that instead of having the standard circular diff guard he had one that span the whole front axle. it was fixed on to the radius arm bolts that attach to the axle. it acts as a skid plate protecting everything underneath. so does anyone know where i can get one of these bad boys?? web address or whatever i want one. thanks

Thats a steering guard. Cs components do em (its RAZs outfit) ive got one and its a goodun.Otherwise anywhere thaty does forby spares, paddocks/craddocks etc.

ive got a steering guard, this sat beneath that and was a total skid pan for the front axle. ive never seen one in magazines or anythin and im pretty sure its not a home made jobby. ill keep searchin. thanks

sounds a bit like it could be the one made by Mantec / Scrapiron Racing which would require a second motgage to buy.

ive found one now but do u think that maybe it would effect articulation??? its fitted on rad arm bolts???

got one like you are talking about on mine, no its does not affect your articulation at all best diff gaurd i think you can buy and yes it is fitted on the rad arm bolts and i got it off APB ltd google them
