Few more questions

I had a quick look at the job over the weekend,

I'm assuming the fan has a right hand thread, Also anyone know what size the nut is.
How do you release the belt tensioner.

Cheers

Steve

fan nut is a 36mm, not easy to get hold of.

cant remember what thread is.

belt tentioner, get a 13 or 15mm spanner on the nut inside the tensioer pulley and just turn it towards passenger side!

it will be left hand thread and you can buy a viscous fan spanner at halfords

Thanks

Five minutes with mr angry and a 32mm spanner and I've now got the tool for the job. :)

"Give it a sharp clout to the left a couple of times" That explains why it wouldn't budge lol

I'll have another go when / if it stops raining.

Managed to do the job between showers this morning, It definatly a right hand thread on the fan. Thanks for that I'm used to fords with a left hand threads.
Only problem was securing the crank pulley to undo the bolt, In the end I used a piece of 3 x 2 about a foot long jacked up under the pulley while I broke the bolt.

The tensioner and idler pulley under the PS pump, Bearings don't seem very clever can the bearings be changed or is a case of replacing the whole units.

Thanks

Steve

Yes the bearings can be changed and are readily available off the shelf at your local bearing supplier as the type is common. Buy a good quality bearing..not Taiwanese crap. They are quite cheap and easy to remove/fit..juust press out/in with a vice.

Another job on the list, :)

Do you know the bearing numbers / size so I can get them in before I start the job.

Cheers

Steve
