Right its 1/2 way in.

Is there any tricks for getting it right the way in with out lots of naughty swear words and lots of blood and broken bolts?

I have been using M14 threaded bar to wind them in but this bent then stripped. Will a new pice of M14 that hasnt had the abuse from winding in 3 bushes already be any better?

How about 2 bolts welded together to put less strain on the thread or locking nuts as there is a little more thread in there?

Im hurting all over now from doing these bloddy springs, just 1 left to do and the stupid bush wont go... for now?

make sure it's proper HT stud and not the normal cheap elastic stuff and make sure your bearing down on the outer sleeve (using a socket)

make sure the chassis tubes are spotless and lined wwith grease (same with the new bushes

file a slight taper on the new bush to help ease it in

I will go buy some better threaded bar tonight and try again.

I had made sure the tube was nice and smooth inside and I greased it good!

On the other side I got it a bit further in and then used a bolt with a shallower pitch as there is more thread inside the nut to winde it in fully!

This bolt is not quite long enough to get all the washers on etc. The bush just needs to be in about an extra inch. :(

Its a right PITA! freezing the bush for a few days helps greatly. Not sure what you can do with it half way in other than keep using the threaded bar and pulling it in.

as an after thought here did you clean out the rust with a flap sander then use copper-slip in the hole and around the bush ? .

I once saw a guy using Loctite on those bushes.

I wonder who tried to take them out next time.

I like the idea of freezing the whole bush down first.
Who has tried this? Did it seem to help?

phone your fasteners place up and buy 10.9 bolts as these will take more **** than chocolate strength threaded bar
