Hi all,

Front bumpers paint is flaking off and below it is rusting :(

Does anyone have any advice/kniow how to remedy this?

Should I sand down the bumper and re-paint of fork out the £60 or an after market replacement.

If anyone has had experience of repainting please 'chip in'!

No pun intended.

Ok. It was intended.

Cheers.

Just sand off the loose stuff using an abrasive wheel

Smooth the edges

Use zinc red primer or kurust

overpaint with black smooth hammerite

Job done :)

Howdy

Got mine powdercoated - cost £30 which I figured after the work they put into stripping it back to bare metal was well worth it.

my bumper was the same. i used Hammerite Rust Remover for the rust. an left it on over night. then just got primer and black spray from pound land. i been biggin up pound land quite allot when it comes to spray paint haha. mainly because so fas its not let me down. iv put my 90 through plenty of bushes and bramble and the stuff just doesn't want to scratch or come off. now when poundland get is in i go and buy the whole shelf. its never always in.

Most important is you get rid of the rust otherwise it will come back time, and time again.
Take it back till you see bare metal and then use epoxy primer and some poly matt black te finnish it off. When youre finnished put some tectyl on the back. Jobs a good en.
