Stu, thanks for searching for the info.
But i gave up, got the old pads back on and have just got walked back from Mansfields.

At least I now know how to replace the pads. If the pistons hadn't been covered in rust it would have been a nice easy job.

I need (want) the Disco on the road for the weekend, if not then i would have had a go or brought Brian's refurbed calipers.
Hopefully the garage will get the pads in without too much trouble and then I can look at replacing the calipers as planned maintenance rather than being against the clock.

Replacing calipers is not that hard or long a job about 1 hour aside then about 15 min to bleed them

Picked up Disco after work.
Brakes all done. They managed to clean up and free the pistons and found the source of te knocking and sorted that.
I'll check the pads after every play and may look at replacement calipers for when the pads next need changing.
Thanks for all the help and advice.
Nick.

Bringing this old thread back to life.
What was promised as an easy job is now concerning me.
Got the wheel off, old pads removed easy enough.
Getting them pistons back in is proving difficult.
Do i need to open the slacken the bleed nipple? If so where is it. I've posted some pictures if this helps.

Thanks for the advice, but i needed it done quick so the local garage sorted it for me. Yes that pad didn't owe me anything

What was the knocking Nick?

I didn't get to talk to them when i picked it up as running late and they were just closing. Said something about back door?
Anyway took it for a test drive and seems to be cured :D
