Front Brake Disc

I need to replace the front brake discs(Min thickness close to 22mm) and part no NTC8780 is not available. Can I put Disco II front disc part no SDB000380, which is available. Dico II s rears are a direct match with P38 rears.
I don't want to remove the disc and take it to compare with Disco one as I might damage it while trying to remove. In that case if it's a no match, I won't be able run the car.

Order the correct discs and drive it with current discs till the new ones arrive

Hmmm.........I guess that's the only option.

Order new disc screws and caliper bolts when you do it. I used a punch to knock the screw round s it was well and truly stuck. Heat might be required on the caliper bolts but watch any rubber parts (boots, flexible hoses etc) nearby.

I wouldn't be surprised if they are the same discs but don't know for sure.

Also be prepared for new rubber gaters, found one had split and caused the slider to corrode and jam the caliper in place.

Did the rears today. Yes, that screw is a pain. Used the drill and everything fine thereafter.
My rear discs were worn down to 8mm, much below the set limit.
Ordering a pair of front disks is costly and with the weight size shipping will be killing.
Disco II has a different part no for front discs.

Guys, is Bearmach a good brand for front discs?
An indie is ready to get a set for me at a reasonable price.

What do you regard as reasonable? Look on Ebay there are loads of them. But remember you get what you pay for. And new discs and pads MUST be run in after fitting. No heavy or sustained braking for 250 miles no sitting at lights with foot brake applied or even the dear ones can warp.

Eurocarparts usually have an offer code available somewhere and if they don't if you call the head office they usually give you some off. With the discount you can usually get Padgid or Mintex for a similar price to Britpart, although Brembo aren't that much more and the pads might not cause so much dust (I'm hoping). My pads are due for replacement soon so that's what I'll be trying next. My discs should be good for a few more years I hope. Don't know if they ship to Sri Lanka though but might be worth asking.

Rimmers want 135GBP to ship two discs. which comes upto 210 GBP in total. Also, on top of that will have to pay import duty on such a heavy item.
The indie agreed to deliver at a total cost around 120 GBP. That is reasonable, I believe.
I want to know whether Bearmach discs stand together with Delphi or with -----part, in an quality perspective.
I understand the run-in process but 'no sitting at lights with foot brake applied..'

I tried some Bearmach engine mounts last summer. The studs sheared clean off and when I looked at the second one I could see why. The quality was pretty poor so I put the original mounts back on (they were better than the new Bearmach). I'd say Bearmach are slightly better than ----part but not much in it. Delphi I would go for. Or see if the Indie can get Padgid or Brembo?

If the discs and pads are hot after long braking from high speed sitting with the pads in contact with the discs will cause unequal cooling of the discs.

I thought he would have fashioned one out of a biscuit tin lid, only till the new one arrived.

Wammers , this is my daily travel . We have heavy traffic here with average speed about 5 Km per hour. Daily about 3 hrs spent on the road to office & back. with the foot is mostly on the brake pedal.

Why change discs and pads then in traffic like that, what you have is good for another twenty or thirty years.
