tap the socket on and use a bar rather than ratchet, if the doesnt help, soak in wd40 or similar or if still no joy, heat it but you will have to remove anything flammable!

If it's off the car, take it to a tyre fitters shop and get then to put their air gun nut wrench on it:D

hot spanner the only way my friend then VERY good fitting socket and long bar ,replace with new high tensile bolts copperslip em no bother in future. Ifind you are only putting someonelse,s malpractice right usually the main stealers cos they know itll be some other poor so n so,s problem in future. best o luck mate

Another way is hit the offending bolts with a hammer a few times. (aswell as WD40 or equivelant) It can help if you try to tighten them up before undoing. Sounds stupid I know but it works more often than not. Use a star type socket (loads of contact area) rather than the normal hex type socket (contact only on corners)

thanks everybody gave said bolts a damn good clean and put on slightly smaller socket and off they came, they were real bad, brake pads and disc's worse i have ever encountered thanks again

incidently, check the slide pins, the usually seize in the hole, and, if you visit a scrappy the front brakes on the rover 75 are the same!!
