Help, I am new to the world of Land rover, I have recently taken my disco wading to give it a bit of a clean on the underside.
To my horror the front axle has a hole not far from the shock mount, also both swivels are leaking, seems I would be best off with a whole axle assembly, does anyone have a spare knocking artound they wish to sell, pleeeease?????

Hi Geoff, welcome to the Barmy Army and The Wonderful World of Land Rover.

I'm intrigued by your description of the problem "hole in the axle near the shock mount" your sure it's not just the axle breather hole you've found??

Re leaking swivels, 'they all do that sir' and can be cured by replacing the seals. Easy job.

I only pose these questions as it might be that you don't need to change the current axle, just do some remedial work.

Cheers
Dave

Hi definitely not breather problem, it is a hole in the bracket sort of between shock mount and where the steering arm connects, will see if I can get a decent pic to try and give better detail.
