Well, thought I would share a few pictures of my current (when I get a few minutes) project.
I bought a second hand pair of axles to rebuild as and when and the other day started work on the front axle. The diff on the front of my 300tdi is the worst one so thought I would start there. Obviously should have started with the rear one as not as many parts to replace / take off however this is a Land Rover, we never do things in the right order lol.
So I started by stripping all the parts off the axle and fitting the shell of an old diff. Then stuck a wire wheel in the drill, some 80 grit sand paper, a blade for scraping and lots of elbow grease later the underside was ready for primer and top coat. Then I repeated the process on the top side. Shown here just with the topside in primer which I have just finished putting on today.
Hopefully will get a couple of coats of red on the top side tomorrow and will post some more pictures then.
