Hi All
I wanted to change my anti roll bar bushes but when reading rave it says not to touch as they are bonded on etc.
What I would like to know is can you change them and if not do they not wear?
Please can someone advise me.
Many Thanks
Pete

Not bonded according to Rave page 749
Thanks for that I was reading under the picture in the maintenance page.
I can crack on as they have arrived today.
I'm after a front differential o ring that fits in the coupler for the front Propshaft I am replacing, you don't happen to know a part number? Or a o.e.m part I can get
If not no worry so but am truly great full for the quick reply.

AFAIK, new OEM Antiroll Bars come with the bushes and clamps already fitted......but you can buy replacement bushes as separate items which suggests the clamps can be removed for bush replacement.

RAVE does mention not to remove the clamps as they are fitted to the ARB, and the System Description says the bushes are bonded to the bar and the clamps pressed over the top. But I am sure the original bushes can be cut off once the clamps have been prised off the bushes.

With spare bushes readily available from many suppliers, I am sure they can be removed and refitted.

Are you able to identify which item number it is from this diagram - Then we may be able to find the part number....

Hi Saint v8
My rr is a 2003 td6 and has the spline coupling on the front prop shaft, that slides into the coupling on the front diff. Would this be part hr 1 ?
Petebowling
If yours still has the spline front diff, then it hasn't had the recall done which changed it to a UJ tupe of joint.....the spline version was prone to stripping out, losing all drive.

Try this number>>>>

That's right it's that type, it says there is a rubber o ring that fits over the spline of the prop shaft as you push it into the diff coupler and acts as a dust, grit etc shield when the sleeve has been pushed in fully.
Do you think they would do the recall on it now it is 15 years old?

I doubt a dealer would do the recall now - well atleast not for free in anycase!

There are DIY parts available, but I think it is beyond the home diy'er as the Diff unit needs to be stripped and rebuilt which is quite a task!

Oh well I'll have to make do with finding the o ring the diff is good and am changing the front prop and flanges etc to rule them out as I have a clunk when braking all discs and pads have been changed but there is play in the transfer box flange that connects to the front prop so maybe the clunk is the prop taking up the reduction when braking? thanks for all your help,

@Saint.V8 propbably a stupid question BUT, is this the job that would have been done to mine, when I had UJs done, had mine not had the recall done? The reason I ask is because of the issue of getting the UJs repaired that I encountered. Will find my thread for reference, if it is.
