Front 300 tdi crank shaft oil seal.

im on my second crankshaft oil seal with in a month the first dont think i fitted very well and it leaked alot straight away also britpart, the second was the better one from paddocks wich had grease in side so i greased up heavly and was a lot more carefull fitting and after about 2 weeks its starting to weap oil from that hole any ideas were im goin wrong or am i using crap parts thanks.

buy genuine... For one seal I cant see it costing much more

may be the seal is ok but the shaft is scored

A seal is a seal as long as its by a reputable manufacturer, land rover don't make seals neither do britpart they just buy them off a seal maker, as Richard Martin said the shaft is probably scored where the old seal ran for years, put the seal in slightly deeper or shallower so it's running on fresh metal, sorted
