Well this mornign in the rain I set about draining the auto fluid from my disco 2 v8, following the removal of about 6 pints of fluid, i set about removing the filter and promptly replaced it with a new one, remembering to clean the small magnet of crap. I got the filter and gaskets from craddocks.

once back on I filled with fluid until it started to run out of the side hole, turned her over and ran through the gear and continued to fill the sump until a dribble started to show again. tightened the filling nut and reversed her off the ramps. she feels loads better, slightly more reponsive but deffo smoother on the gears.

well worth it in my mind, all in 90 mins well chuffed.

They are classed as sealed for life, but the service schedule still says to replace the autobox fluid after 36k or so.

mines done 110k and I dont think the fluid has been changed prior to my sat morning task yesterday.

well worth it IMO

regards
