Wot Storm says !

And if anyone trys to tell you they are good, just remember there is a Morris Marina owners club, and a Reliant Robin club, because some people will think anything is cool

Seiously though, if you want a capable off road or expedition machine, get a disco or defender. If you want a road biased 4wd, there are better choices (according to the major motoring magazines) than a Freelander.

It's one of those things - you either want a Freelander or not. If you do (and you may have been put off by what you read - and let's be honest it's not all unjustified) the TD4 is probably your best bet, but then it depends on what you're going to be doing. Just do an internet search on your model - my guess is lots of stuff will fill google). Check whether it's been used for towing etc and if it has a service history (usual stuff).

They look fab - but don't enter into one thinking "I'm going to be the lucky one" - they have faults - but they also have pluses - great to drive etc. Most of the faults can be found on this website (and they are helpful!!). Hope this is helpful - but if you are like me you just love them and will look to find the best that you can and enjoy it!!
