Freelander V6 lack of power

Hello,

Lately my V6 has had a lack of power low down in the revs, so much so going uphill was slower than a tractor. Any way the engine warning light came on this morning with a P0172 bank 1 too rich code on the scanner. At idle it was misfiring and juddering and when driving it was like the throttle was either on or off. I had a look under the bonnet and the pipe which goes from Air Box on top down to the engine with other tubes attached to it was split right where it goes into the engine. Pic attached. Would this cause the symptoms I was getting?

Do you mean where I've circled?

If so then no, a split there shouldn't cause loss of power. There are other split pipes that can though. Those are buried under the engine cover.

There's something wrong with the piping directly below where I've circled too. There's a pipe that shouldn't be there and shouldn't be joined like that.

Yes that’s where the split is. It was a big split Left a whole about the size of a 2p. Here’s a better photo.

That split won't affect the power at all, it'll just make the engine more noisy, and admit unfiltered air.

You need to check the PCV pipes for breakage, under the engine cover/ filter housing.

The inlet plenum butterflies are also a potential failure on the KV6, giving low power at low RPM.

I connected it to a diagnostic reader and the fuel trims for the front bank are much higher/lower than the other bank. Would this point to injectors?

Not necessarily. Have you checked for slit pipes on the PCV system? An air leak in the PCV pipes will give fuel trim modifications.

I've given the engine a good look over, Checked the spark plugs, the injectors all sound ok and ticking away.
I ran the engine with the accoustic cover off and I could hear a hissing noise but it was coming from under the manifold. All the pipes and tubes seem ok but there were some areas I couldn't inspect.

Also I should add there was quite a loud hissing noise which disappeared when I revved the engine
