Hello everyone Happy new year. New problem this car is doing my head in. Ok so cooling system issues continue. Here is a list of parts I have replaced / water pump / radiator/ heater matrix / hose pipes / brand new thermostat this week / system has been bled and fans worked as they should come on go of etc however today did a fair drive and when I stopped to open the gate the cooling fans are constantly running so gave the engine a rev to 4000 rpm but the fans would not shut of. Got to the house turned the engine of and re started the cooling fans came on again at a slower speed. This is a new issue as I have never had this before even with leaks in the system. I have notice the coolant level has risen a little bit again today. Any guidance and advice would be greatly appreciated as I’m running out of patience with her. Seems to be more prominent if I put my foot down. Had her on the computer temp was resting at around 107 dropping to around 95-98 when fans cut in. Yesterday I left her ticking over for over an hour and the fans kicked in on slow speed and cut out perfectly so why is this happening too radiator hose is hot but when fans are on permanently I can hold the top pipe for a little bit I have good heat from the heater please it’s driving me bonkers and emptying my bank

Hi,

Your engine is simply overheating. Depending on the mileage I will suspect a head gasket faillure.
Freelander v6 cost too much to run and keep it running.
