Freelander TD4 wont start

Hi All I did have a thread somewhere on the system last week but it seems to have dissapeared. But just to let everyone know who offered advice (thanks by the way) what the problem was I thought i'd feed back. Originally EM light came on after going around a roundabout engine went flat for a second picked up and I nursed it home. It had a third of a tank of gas, I switched it off and it restarted once and that was it, I could hear the pump buzzing in the engine comparment and what sounded like bubbles arriving in the fuel tank. Anyway the garage picked it up on Tuesday and initially they started it after charging the battery and continually cranking but the next day no luck. They changed the pump in the engine compartment but it made no difference so they changed the pump in the tank and pressure returned and it fired up first time. great but I only had these two pumps replaced last Feb 2009 (17 months ago) I have heard that the front pump will soldier on on its own sometimes if the lift pump fails so does this mean there is possibly a blockage somewhere? just wondering as I'm about to be hit for £500 and I need some reassurance. My Freelander is still at the garage and they can't find the problem still (after 2 weeks!) I didn't book it in, so they're doing it in fits and starts (so I've been assured it's not going to cost me a lot in labour!) but it's starting to bug me badly...

They've had it plugged in to their diagnostics and they say it's an immobiliser/EM problem... lots of faffing around with 2nd hand electrics, but hopefully it'll save me over a grand!
