Hi,
I own a 2002 freelander td4 and I modified to 2wd after the ird has begun making plenty of noise.
I modified it to 2 wd by removing the shafts, diff etc..However I left the IRD in place.
Now it is driving well, but there is still a small "click click click" sound when car is moving, especially when car is moving in neutral gear.
If I remove the ird and fix a blanking plate, will this small sound disappear?
Thanks

one wheel freelander brings back the memories of that song three wheels on my wagon.

One wheel on my wagon , but im still rollin along :D I remember it well

I think he means he wants to remove the pinion gear and fit a blanking plate. If he's removed the prop then he can do this, and fit a plate.

Make sure you undo the filler plug before the drain if your changing the ird oil.
