Purchased a lovely 04 plate TD4 HSE in Feb to tow my caravan and use as daily transport. Lovely condition and new receipt for £868 For replacement clutch and slave and master cylinders.

New vcu and bearings from the excellent Bell Engineering, EGR bypass, two new Michelins on rear to match front, new rear exhaust and all new rear brakes. Was driving beautifully and looking a treat.

Hitched up 'van last week on a sunny afternoon for our first tow and a week in Dorset. Fifteen miles later, sat in middle of motorway slip road with the clutch pedal dropped to the floor.

Recovery, and even after fitting new slave, clutch and flywheel 'it's still biting almost at the floor so we need to fit a new master too'. Wonderful. Goodbye £1400.

Anybody else had two new clutches in six months?
