Hi everybody , i'm new on here , ive had my second freelander 1 now for about 6 month's and the sunroof has just packed in ,, i would be gratefull if anybody could offer any help to me in fixing it . i have managed to get it to the tilt position by using the control , it is making a jittering noise and will not close or open , i have bin liners stuffed with towels stuffed in the gap at the moment, i'm in north birmingham ,, many thank's , simon .

That's the trouble... the sunroof itself is ashamed to actually go back into a Freelander bodyshell ;) :D

(It's usual on LZ to have an intro post & then post your questions in the appropriate section (Freelander in your case). There's plenty of Hippo people who might help in there in addition to the possibility that a problem the same as yours has already come up and been fixed.

WELCOME! and best of luck.

This is probably due to the plastic cog being damaged through a lot of use and is quite common. As you operate the switch, help the sunroof along by pushing it in the direction that you are trying to move it..... preferably closed ;)

Thank you both for replying to me :) i have tried pushing it shut while another person held the button , but to no joy , i think i will wait till the bad weather is safely gone then have a go at repairing it .

I Have just finaly managed to close the sunroof with a little jiggling and pushing , PHEW!! the fuse is also now removed and i do not plan opening it again, thank god i didnt need to go to a garage
