Freelander Steel Wheels

On my 2014 Freelander 2 my tyres are 60% worn, but I don't do many miles.
Where I live its up hill and down dale. I was thinking of buying a set of "cheap" heavy lug, rough terrain tyres together with a set of "cheap" steel wheels and fitting them to my Freelander for the winter. This would mean that this would extend the life of my normal tyres for the time that my winter tyres were on.
Is it worth doing and can anyone suggest a Steel Wheel Supplier and cheap heavy lug tyres.

The spare is a steel, so presumably you could use those.
Tyres, just choose something that fits and is suitable for your needs.

Do you have a problem with grip using your normal tyres?
I find if its to bad for michelin crossclimates I sit by the fire and have a hot toddy.
