Hi all, its been a long long while since ive written something. obviously i have looked at the many posts about this issue but i cant for the life of me get my freelander 2 2007 hse to start, help please.
Key in the port, press the button, everything lights up, press the clutch and start button and no start. Battery is charged, All the earth connections cleaned and checked, fuses ok, new solenoid kit on the starter, even tried a steering lock emulator. I can bridge the terminels on the starter and it cranks but no start, this also checks out the earths, doesnt seem to be a signal to the starter and also when the steering lock emulator was plugged in it didnt light up at all, This tells me its a immobiliser fault. Any ideas folks ?
My friend pugged in his basic diagnostic and it came up with the nasty code P1259-84 immobilizer to powertrain control module signal error ?
Ps i looked under the air box and the loom isnt broken anywhere. I really dont want to go to landrover as it will probably cost as much as the car is worth although it is in great condition.
Regards Kevin

Any Ideas folks, The battery is reading nearly 13 volts, also code U0121-00 is on, lost communication with ABS control module, is this a factor for not starting ?
Cheers
Possibly not, but your original stated loss from imobaliser module would. Did the code return after clearing?

I agree that it sounds like the immobiliser is not allowing the car to start, for whatever reason.
If you have tried the obvious (new battery in fob / spare key / all fuses etc), then my next ‘easy’ check would be the actual car battery. The F2 is power-hungry and a less-than-good battery can cause all sorts of issues. How old is the battery?

Failing that, I think you need LR-specific diagnostics, as you are getting into potential issues with the control modules.
