Hello all,

I have a 3 door mk1 petrol and I am thinking that I might either sell the roof rails OR buy the bars to go across them but cannot decide which to do! Does anyone know what the rails would be worth and what I would have to pay for the bars that fit them?

Also, is the roller luggage cover the same one for the 3 and the 4 door mk1 and how much would I need to pay for one?

Thanks,

Roodle

I have but it wasn't much use!

SO........
What are they worth.
What would I need to pay.
Are the 3 door and 5 door luggage covers the same article?

I believe the covers are not the same

If you look on eBay you will find a very nice looking hard cover for about £98 for the 3 door - I am thinking of getting one myself.

I made the mistake of buying a 5 door roller type cover thinking it would fit a 3 door but it doesn't -its slightly too long, in fact its almost slightly too long for a 5 door lol.

I guess you could make one fit by opening it up, cutting down the case and trimming the roller part.

3 door rigid shelves are never cheap to buy - I made one from a sheet of MDF and covered it in a vinyl to match the interior of my old 3 door Freelander.

Check the completed listings It's a big wide world out there :)

From a quick look I reckon your current roofbars are worth about £100 - to get cross roof bars would be about £30 - Roll out parcel shelf may be different 3 door to 5 door but you can just roll it out to fit - depending on the year.....

I think I'm doing your work for you here - it's really not that hard

Yes you are.........many thanks!

I think that the issue with the rollout parcel shelf is not just the length of it, I think it is a different fitting or size?

That's a shame, I've got a spare parcel shelf cover from a freelander you could've had! I've got 2, one for my car and one from my sisters which she forgot to put in the car before she sold it.
Unfortunately from a 5 door!

Becca :)

Thank you Becca.........what a pity!

If you know anyone locally with a mk1 3 door would you mind trying it just to double check?! ;-)
