Im wondering if anyone can help me, im looking at a friends 2003 Landrover Freelander Kalahari TD4 5 door and i have a problem with the REAR window driver side not operating at all with any of the window switches, does anyone know what would be the most likely cause of this?

Hi, i have removed the door card to have a closer look today and cant really see that there are any cables loose or broken, i then tryed to operate the window on the switch to listen to the motor/regulator and i hear nothing from this. Should i be able to hear this working? Im am under the impression that if i could hear the motor running then i would have a cable issue, thus pointing to a motor problem? Would people tend to aggree that i should replace this and not the cables. Any recommendations and help with the part and fitting instructions will be grately appreciated?

time to get a circuit tester out, check for power when switch is operated, also is the window stuck from not being used , it does happen, think you're in for some detective work to analyse the problem, then report back with more evidence.

Had exactly the same on mine 2003 td4 quite some time ago. Removed door card, everything was looking fine, checked fuses, they were ok. Then a lightening bolt hit!!!! In the centre console is a switch that disables the rear windows operating from the door switches. Maybe have a look at that if you havent already. Mine now works fine!!!

Mine rubbed on the inside of the door and wore through a wire. It was a bit tucked behind but visible with a bit of poking around. There's a connector inside the boot near the door hinge. A meter here should give you and idea of which end of the system might be faulty.

If it is the regulator motor or cable, then Land Rover Parts Shop are doing a good deal on replacement complete units. I've just ordered one for the rear N/S, £44 + vat. Hardly worth the trouble of an ebay cable kit or s/h unit at that price. Will be making sure the cables are well greased when it goes in.

I have same problem on my hippo. I have no power to motor and all fuses R good. So gunna ave a check of the cables over the weekend.
