Freelander problem

Hello

Im after abit if advice to diagnose my freelander problem.

I have to start my freelander with the clutch pressed in. I cannot select a gear and its as if the clutch is holding one of the gears.

Is this a gearbox fault or clutch fault?

Any advice would be helpful

Clutch slave bearing maybe, knackered hydraulics, knackered flywheel or knackered clutch...one of them. Either one will involve at least a new clutch, but doing the rest at the same time is recommended.

This normal on many new cars, but alas not on a Freelander 1....

If you can still do clutchless changes by matching the revs then that would point to a clutch slave problem IMO.

sounds like a gearbox fault to me


have you seen the "introduce yourself" section?

how long have you had the caris the clutch pedal very bigthis sounds like a automatic

it sounds like it could be a hydraulic fault, can you take it out of gear with the engine switched off?
