Freelander key fob

I recently bought an extra key fob from e-bay, but I've heard it can only be programmed in by the dealer or someone with specialised equipment.
Does anyone know the rough cost of this?
And is there anyone in the Manchester/Cheshire area who does this?

i did the same as you and brought a key fob and new blade for the key for my rr p38 off good old e bay it cost me £4.50 to have the key cut and £25 to have the remote central locking re coded and it dident have to go to land rover i went to a good high street lock smiths with the key reading stuff and he did it for a fraction of the price
